Edmond Y. Chang is an Assistant Professor of English at Ohio University in Athens, OH. His areas of interest include technoculture, gender and sexuality, cultural studies, video games, popular culture, and 20C/21C American literature. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Washington and his dissertation is entitled Technoqueer: Re/con/figuring Posthuman Narratives. He has extensive teaching experience at the university level. His previous institutions include the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR, Drew University in Madison, NJ, and the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. He has taught classes on American literature, cyberpunk science fiction, Harry Potter, technology and identity, queer theory, video game studies, and even live-action role-playing games. Recent publications include: "Teaching Harry Potter: Pedagogy as Play, Performance, and Textual Poaching" in Playing Harry Potter: Essays and Interviews on Fandom and Performance, "Love is in the Air: Queer (Im)Possibility and Straightwashing in FrontierVille and World of Warcraft" in QED: A Journal of GLBTQ Worldmaking, and "Queergaming" in Queer Game Studies. He has a cat named Groosalugg.
