HOTOS FROM HALLOWEEN. I dressed up three times for Halloween this year. Three different costumes. The first was for a Halloween party at a big gay mansion (god, I miss going to big gay mansion parties); I was Heat Miser from The Year Without a Santa Claus. No one knew who I was. The second was for a second Halloween party; I just dressed up in some Archaea garb. And the third was for school, since Halloween was on a Wednesday; I was a candy corn.

HOTOS FROM MY FRIEND CHRISTIAN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY (IN SEPTEMBER). (Which was also potato pot luck themed as well -- I didn't realize how many ways you could prepare a potato and how many of those ways involved cheese or cream or both.) The potato theme even included a birthday cake shaped like a potato, potato stamping (which I am strangely good at) and potato sack (read: plastic garbage bag) races.

HOTOS FROM SLSA, SOCIETY FOR LITERATURE, SCIENCE, AND THE ARTS. Here are a few snaps from my trip to Portland, Maine for the SLSA annual conference. It was fun, interesting, intellectually challenging, humbling, and exhausting. I went with my friend Jentery, his wife Brooken, and got to meet up with old SLSA friends, namely Jamie and Ben. Of course, I met all sorts of new friends (and we gave some rad papers and drank some cheap drinks).
