The following online journal entries are from March 2005.

UCLA said no. What a great way to start a new month. The sad thing is that it wasn't even a real letter. I got an email directing me to go to my online application for my decision. There waiting for me was a scanned copy of a form letter. At least it had my name on it. Bummer. (Not to mention that I locked myself out of the house this morning. I guess I have been a little stressed and distracted.) One down and six to go. Fingers crossed.

Berkeley said no, too. Two down, five to go.

UC Santa Cruz regrets not being able to accept me. This time the rejection was truly by email. No scanned letter. Just an email. I opened it and there was a short letter saying no. Three down, four to go. (Anyone sensing a trend here?)

Two in a row said no. Strange, both of them have three letter acronyms. NYU sent a letter that came yesterday. USC sent a letter today. Part of me was really hoping for NYU, too. Now, I'm not sure what the future holds.

Five down. Two to go. Perhaps my prophecy that the only school that will take me will come true -- UTexas.

TUESDAY. 11:16 PM. I haven't been feeling much like writing about anything. It seems my powers of prophecy are a little off. UTexas's letter came today. Thin letter. Guess I won't be living in a red state. Only one school left. Perhaps it's time for Plan B (maybe even Plan C).
