Wednesday. 10:05 AM. Greetings all.
Let's all give thanks as the year slowly drifts to a close...
May everyone have a safe and hopeful holiday season.
Again I look upon the passing days
like faces painted in my memory,
and though at times they nearly fade away,
I hold them fast and thank them rev'rently.
With each a tick to mark the changing year
From last to this to next's uncertainty,
the season ages and I its squire near
to shoulder sword and duty dauntlessly.
But though my spring shall give to winter's weight,
My stature genuflect to Nestor's throne,
the recollection of my former state
shall fountain youth in heart, in mind, and bone.
Too oft we strive to catch the catchless beast
And never sit a moment's rest to feast.
